Unaccompanied Burial Service performed for two Vietnam veterans in Hurlock

HURLOCK, Md- Two Vietnam war veterans were laid to rest at the Eastern Shore Veteran’s Cemetary in Hurlock, during a ceremony that saw hundreds of people gather to honor the service of the two men who no longer had any family to attend.
Terry Eugene Parker Senior served in the army from Feb 9th, 1971 to November 27th, 1972, he was a private, and Mr. Samuel L Shinn Jr specialist 4 United States Army from march 6th 1968 to December 6th, 1969.
Members of the color guard say they were proud to give the men the sendoff they deserved.
“It’s emotional very emotional we are glad to do it it makes us proud to do it for every veteran in Maryland and every veteran deserves that honor,” said Color Guard Member and Eastern Shore Vet Committee.
Once the services concluded- attendees formed a line and had their own farewell salute to the men
Director of Cemetery and memorial Programs Russell Ware lead the service Thursday and says the turnout exceeded his expectations and he hopes all veterans can receive this final show of respect.
“It’s giving the honor that is due to my brothers and sisters that have fallen it’s the minimum we can do but its means so much more because we will not forget them,” he said.
