Ocean City Issues Travel Advisory Ahead of Air Show

Dazzling Oc Air Show Concludes, Leaving Fans Ready For Next Summer

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Air Show returns this weekend, and the Town is advising residents traveling in the area to plan ahead for delays, road closures, and limited parking.

Street Closures

Set-up for displays, ground exhibits, and reserved areas will begin Friday, Jun. 12, from 12th Street to 20th Street. Town leaders say portions of these streets will be closed and barricaded through Sunday, Jun. 14, with 15th Street and 17th Street remaining closed until approximately noon on Monday, Jun. 15th. The City Hall parking lot at 301 Baltimore Avenue will also be closed to the public starting Friday at 7:00 a.m. Only authorized personnel and vehicles will be allowed entry.

Parking Information

Due to nearby closures, on-street parking will be extremely limited near the event site. The Town of Ocean City offers paid municipal parking at the following locations:

  • Worcester Street, between Baltimore & Philadelphia Avenues.
  • Somerset Street & Baltimore Avenue
  • Dorchester Street & Baltimore Avenue
  • North Division Street & Baltimore Avenue
  • North Division Street & St. Louis Avenue (small lot)
  • 4th Street & Baltimore Avenue

Additionally, the Town of Ocean City has enacted Resolution 2025-10, which designates specific dates for enhanced paid parking rates and penalties during special events. These measures will be in effect on Saturday and Sunday to help manage the increased number of visitors. Enhanced penalties will apply to vehicles parked in prohibited areas, including no-parking zones, red curbs, fire lanes, near fire hydrants, and on sidewalks.

For complete parking information, visit the Town’s website here.

Public Transportation Options

Residents can access the Ocean City Beach Bus all-day for a fee of four dollars. The bus runs up and down Coastal Highway from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m. the following morning. Those opting to travel on the bus can park for free at the West Ocean City Park & Ride.

Leaders say that due to anticipated congestion, post-event bus service may be delayed, and riders should pan accordingly. For transit details and live bus maps, click here.

Safety Reminders

With large crowds expected throughout the weekend, everyone is encouraged to stay alert and travel safely. Pedestrians should use marked crosswalks, obey traffic signals, and avoid crossing mid-block. Drivers are reminded to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, slow down in congested areas, and avoid distracted driving. Bicyclists and scooter riders should obey traffic laws, travel with the flow of traffic, and use designated bike lanes whenever possible.
