Salisbury Christmas Giveaway spreads holiday cheer

The Evelyn Davis committee has partnered up with the fire department and the Wicomico County sheriff's department to put on the Evelyn Davis Christmas giveaway. An event that will feature a variety of multi-cultural food including Haitian, Spanish and soul food dishes. They will also be offering free pictures with Santa.
Sister Evelyn Davis passed away in 2015 and last year Mayor Jake Day renamed Cypress Street in Salisbury after her, calling it Evelyn V Davis Boulevard.
Angela Davis, Evelyn's daughter said the Christmas giveaway is a way to carry on her mothers tradition of giving back to the community.
"That's what she stood for, she was a missionary evangelist preacher and she loved all god's people so we just want to just spread that Christmas love and we want to invite all families to come, to come out and get some free food and some holiday spirit cheer going on," Davis said.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Davis said the Evelyn Davis Committee will also be raising money to build a community center in her mothers name. For information on how to give donations call 443-953-0515.
