Rehoboth Beach commissioners adopt $30.1M budget for FY2023

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — Rehoboth Beach City commissioners adopted a $30.1 million budget for fiscal year 2023.

Rehoboth Beach Project Coordinator said this newly adopted budget represents a 9% increase over the adopted fiscal year 2022 budget.

Some projects that this money will go towards are the design for a Delaware avenue restroom and beach patrol headquarters, which will incorporate changing rooms and improved facilities.

Also, the money will be used for continued assessment and repairs of infrastructure, including storm and wastewater projects. Money will also go to new parking meters on Rehoboth Avenue.

“I think this budget really helps continue to provide the best level of service that we can to our residents and to our visitors, additionally this budget incorporates an increase attention towards our future needs to the community and just a commitment to thinking and planning ahead with our investments,” Evan Miller, City Projects Coordinator, said.

We are told there is an increase in the capital budget this year largely due to necessary improvements at the State Road Pump station and an increase in pay for full and part time employees.
