As fair comes to a close, officials eye long clean up ahead

As fair comes to a close, work to clean up begins.
Unfortunately, Saturday marks the end of the Delaware State Fair, but that means the clean up begins the second doors close.
About 400 workers were hired, plus countless volunteers, to take part in getting the fairground ready for two big events held at the casino next week.
This is a three-week process, as workers will begin by getting things out of the way for vendors to pack up.
We're told top priorities for clean up will be to break down the animal pens and dispose of the manure to avoid flies.
"It's a massive attack to get everything cleaned up and get out of here," says George Scuse, the facilities director for the fair. "The big thing is getting the vendors out of the way. Once they're out of the way then we can have our own equipment, trash trucks and stuff like that that we use here on the property. It runs smooth but it's just a matter of getting everybody out of the way so we can get in and get our stuff done."
The fair is not looking for any more help this year, but they will be for next year.
Keep an eye on the fairs website for job listings, we're told the fair normally hold job fairs in June.
