Teams collect money for fundraiser to help transition from homelessness

Some locals helped those transitioning from homelessness Sunday, by baking pies. People dropped by The Ugly Pie for a fundraiser to help benefit The Village of Hope, a non-profit that provides a transitional home for women and children struggling with homelessness.
The Village works in partnership with residents and their families to build skills and abilities to empower those in need to lead self-sufficient, productive lives.
"It gives the women job training, interview training, counseling if they need it, child care, healthcare or access to healthcare for them," says Maria Pippen, fundraising manager for Teach Lucky Charms. "And really let's them get a footing. So hoping to do their part to eradicate homelessness here in the Salisbury area."
The Great Clue Caper, a race to benefit the non-profit will take place next Sunday right here in Salisbury. The winning team will receive a check for $1,000, and another $1,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice.
