Laurel defeats Brandywine in Battle of The Bone Game

LAUREL, Del. – Another edition of the Battle of the Bone. As we kickoff the 2nd week of high school football.

Early in the game, Micah Niblett tried to find Ashton-Ayres Lucas on a bubble route, but Blake Crawford smashed the ball out, a big hit from the senior defensive back.

The game was sloppy for both teams. Laurel, though, was more consistent overall in this game.

Peyton Taylor is looking to make something happen, but Brynnen Thompson disrupts the play and causes the fumble. Thompson just received an offer to Boston College this week.

Laurel would take advantage of Niblett to Za-Bryan on a slant route for a touchdown. Laurel leads 6 to 0.

They would keep the momentum going. Following a couple of possessions, Niblett spots Ayres Lucas, this time on the out cut. Laurel Bulldogs scored once again with another touchdown.

Brandywine fights back and gets themselves back into this game, Chase Beauparlant heaves one up and Anthony Mangano comes down with it in one-on-one coverage and gets into the end-zone.

The Brandywine Bulldogs will not quit. Then, after a turnover on downs by Laurel, again Chase to Mangano, and he gets another touchdown.

20-13 in the first half. The Laurel Bulldogs would play stout defense to hold steady and finish the game with a win.

Laurel defeated Brandywine 20-13.
