UPDATE: A Salisbury 19-year-old will serve more than a decade behind bars for his role in a gang-related shooting that occurred in Oct. 2025.

On Oct. 1, Chief Judge Kathleen L. Beckstead sentenced Bryant Brown-Clark to 26 years in prison, with all but 14 years suspended, for two counts of second degree attempted murder, two counts of firearm use in a crime of violence, and related charges. The sentence imposed was at the top of Brown-Clark’s applicable sentencing guidelines.

At sentencing, the State reportedly requested a sentence of 43 years to be served actively without suspended time or probation, due to Brown-Clark’s poor history on probation. Brown-Clark was previously convicted for illegal possession of a regulated firearm and unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle. He was placed on probation for those offenses four months prior to the Oct. 2025 shooting, and currently faces Violation of Probation proceedings.

Evidence presented in court by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office found the shooting an attempt by Brown-Clark to kill a member of a rival gang.

“This ongoing gang violence, an epidemic among our youth, is simply unacceptable, and my Office and the law enforcement agencies serving Wicomico County will spare no effort to eradicate this plague on our citizenry,” said Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Dykes.

SALISBURY, Md. – A 19-year-old has been convicted of attempted murder and related charges in connection with a gang-related shooting from October.

Bryant Brown-Clark of Salisbury was convicted on two counts of second degree attempted murder, two counts of firearm use in a crime of violence, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, two counts of theft valued between $1,500 to $25,000, and related charges following a three-day jury trial. He will remain in custody until his sentencing, which has been postponed pending a pre-sentence investigation.

“We are extremely fortunate that no one was injured or killed in this shooting incident,” Wicomico County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Dykes said. “My Office will continue to diligently prosecute violent street crime to remove these perpetrators from our community.”

On Oct. 16, 2025, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a shooting incident in the area of Mohawk Avenue in Salisbury, but were unable to gather information from any witnesses. Deputies were then dispatched to the nearby Wicomico Nursing Home, where they discovered a stray bullet had entered a patient’s room. Investigators collected physical evidence from the scene, including shattered automotive glass in the street and surveillance footage depicting a suspect vehicle, which was located by investigators days later in Salisbury, and found to be stolen from Baltimore City.

Authorities arrested Brown-Clark while conducting surveillance of the stolen vehicle, as he and four other young men tried to enter the car. Shattered automotive glass was found on Brown-Clark’s person when he was taken into custody. Based on the Sheriff’s Office investigation, the shooting is believed to have been gang related.
