Chamber Chat: UMES Salute to Veterans Gala

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – In this week’s Chamber Chat, WMDT’s John Trout and Chef Bob Dixon, of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s (UMES) Culinary Program, discuss the UMES Salute to Veterans Gala, taking place on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., enjoy a cocktail hour, followed by a delicious lineup of food and beverages prepared by UMES’s Hospitality & Tourism Management students.

“It is all about our veterans and recognizing the veterans in our community, the veterans at our school, as well as the veteran students that we have that participate in our university,” Dixon said.  “It’s a great evening, and it also raises money for a scholarship program.”

All the proceeds from the gala go to the UMES Silver Star Scholarship Fund, which is available to veterans and their family members attending the school. Tickets are $80 per person, and $600 for a table of eight.
