Waterside Park Renovations Underway

SALISBURY, Md. – The renovation project at Waterside Park in Wicomico County is in progress.

The City of Salisbury’s Department of Infrastructure and Development announced in February that the park will undergo construction to add new amenities onto the current outdoor space.

Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor said the park is expected to be finished by mid-July.

“I think it’ll be in time for the kids, for the summertime to have a place to play and get some cover and have somewhere to go to the bathroom during the summer months, which is nice.” Taylor said. “There’s a basketball court and a playground there, so it’ll be a natural extension of the park itself.”

The construction of the park was an ongoing concept, finally made possible by receiving adequate funding.

“In fact, it was planned to be built like three or four years ago, and got delayed.” Said Taylor. “So we made it a priority to get it done.”

The exact re-opening date is still unknown.
