Primary Voting Turnout in Wicomico County
SALISBURY, Md. – Primary voting has begun in Maryland, included in the ballot are governor and lieutenant governor along with an array of local candidates.
The chief election judge at the polling station at Cross Pointe Church, Eric Brewington, was pleased with the voter turnout in Wicomico County.
“Right now, it’s been very consistent.” Said Brewington. “We’re hoping it stays that way, with the weather expecting to turn, you know, that might slow things down. But right now, it’s been really consistent all morning. A lot of people been coming out. They’re excited about the opportunity to cast their ballots.”
For voters, a variety of issues have encouraged them to head to their local polling place.
“I don’t think there is really one thing over the other.” Said Brewington. “The key thing for people is to turn out, and a lot of people just want to practice their civic duty and just come out and cast their ballots.”
