Laurel man arrested for attempted murder
LAUREL, Del. – A Laurel man has been arrested for attempted murder and related charges following a shooting that happened early Tuesday morning in Laurel.
Around 2:35 a.m., DSP troopers with the help of the Laurel Police Department responded to a residence on the 6200 block of Phillips Land Road for the reported shooting.
When police arrived, they found a 45-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and provided medical help.
An investigation revealed 67-year-old Blair Bennett shot the victim during an argument.
Bennett was taken into custody at the residence without incident and was committed to the Department of Corrections on a more than $3 million cash bond.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries.
