UPDATE: Police Determine ‘No Threat’ Following Suspicious Package Found in Salisbury Garage
UPDATE: The Salisbury Police Department has determined that there is no threat following the discovery of a suspicious package at the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage.
Police independently confirmed the determination to WMDT on Wednesday afternoon. Shortly before 3:45 p.m., police cleared the scene and vacated the area. All area roads, as well as Unity Square, have been reopened.
SPD says they plan to release more details in the coming hours.

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department is currently on scene at the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage after a suspicious package was located inside.
In a message posted to social media at 1:25 p.m., police announced they were Downtown and asked residents to avoid the area. Just after 2:30 p.m., a bomb sniffing dog was deployed inside.
Sources on scene tell WMDT that they are treating the suspicious package as a potential bomb. Camden Street and Unity Square have been closed to the public as authorities continue to investigate.
The Salisbury Parking Garage has been closed to the public since May 31 for repairs on site. The garage is expected to reopen on Jun. 15, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
