Delaware. – Students at Delmar High School interested in higher education just got a bit more encouragement.

Students at the school are now eligible for scholarships at Wor-Wic community college.
Until recently, those students were ineligible even though a percentage of students at the school reside in Maryland.

Bunky Luffman, Director of Administration, Wicomico County reminded us that “we have a lot of students in Delmar, Maryland, that actually cross the line and graduate from Delmar, Delaware, Highschool so that made them ineligible for the scholarship.

WWCC held a celebration today for the shift, giving many students the ability to apply for more scholarships and access affordable education.

“it’s going to bring with it, you know, a better standard of living. They’re going to be able to get better jobs, and it’s just going to help out not only, you know, the individual families in the community, but also just the area as a whole.” says Jackson Luffman, a junior at Delmar Highschool who testified in front of law makers to support this bill.
