DSP Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Saturday night in Seaford.
At 9:20 p.m. on May 9, police say a Yamaha XVS motorcycle was traveling westbound on River Road east of Woodland Ferry Road at a high rate of speed. A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, fell on its side, and skidded off the roadway.
The rider, a 56-year-old man from Seaford, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The following day, he died from his injuries. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.
The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the accident. Troopers ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Master Corporal J.
