Discover Delmarva: Jolly Roger Amusement Park
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Jolly Roger Amusement Park, an Eastern Shore staple is hitting a big milestone this summer, “We’ve got so much fun for everyone all summer long, for our 60th anniversary,” says Dawn Dillon, Director of Sales. There a lots of fun activities and giveaways all summer long to continue the celebration.
Whether you’re a thrill seeker or like to play it a little safe, there’s plenty of summer fun to have across the parks. “We’ve got the pier, rides, speed world, go-karts at 30th street, mini golf, and the water park. We’re going give away free swag all summer long,” says Dillon. We’re told there’s something for everyone to do during a visit.
There are lots of options to fit your schedule, with the ability to come back for another day. With tons of budget-friendly options, the big ticket is one of the biggest sellers and best value deals you can access for a visit. The big ticket lets you access Speed-world, Splash Mountain, and rides at the pier and 30th Street.
Luckily for WMDT’s meteorologist Jake Grant and our Discover Delmarva team, he got to test out some of the thrills you can find, including go-kart racing and the Cyclone Cart Coaster which is over five stories tall. Once you reach the top of the track you’re treated to a beautiful view of The Isle of Wight Bay.
Besides the fun on land, Splash Mountain Water Park, another popular staple at the park, is home to some of the most extreme adrenaline-filled slides found across Delmarva, including the Master Blaster which is their signature adrenaline-filled water rollercoaster. Beyond that, there’s also the Stealth, which is a 45-foot half pipe and a straight shot down from the top.
However, for those thrill seekers, we’re told the Aqua Loop, is hailed as the number one water slide in the country by popular mechanics, and the only one of its kind on the east coast. It’s just one feature this shore town staple has to offer with Jolly Roger being an ocean city tradition since 1964.
Dillon also says they encourage large groups to come visit the parks, you just need a minimum of 25 people or more.
