Delegate Tom Hutchinson receives Charles Mathias Jr. Award

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – One of our local elected state officials receiving an honor.

Delegate Thomas Hutchinson was presented to the Maryland House of Delegates Speaker’s Society’s Charles Mathias, Jr. Award.

This honor goes to one member of the majority party and one member of the minority, who demonstrates the willingness to reach across the aisle and serve the needs of the community.

Delegate Hutchinson explaining to WMDT what the honor means to him.

“What’s really meaningful to me is that it is awarded every four years, who demonstrate the ability to walk across the aisle on behalf of all Marylanders, and what actually made it more special, I was the first one to receive it in their first term, so quite an honor and really appreciate of it.”

Delegate Hutchinson tells WMDT that he believes the Eastern Shore Delegation is one of the strongest, tight-knit units in the state.
