Christmas shoppers gather in Ocean City for a very merry sip n’ shop
OCEAN CITY, Md. -It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Ocean City, and holiday shoppers are getting into the spirit- on the hunt for stocking stuffers and unique presents for the little ones.
Damiana Clubb set her table up, selling her handmade sauces that she said are more flavorful than store bought brands.
“Mine is all fresh,” Clubb said. “It’s Gluten free, not a lot of sugar, just healthy and very few ingredients in my sauce. The simpler the better.”
For it only being the first year, event organizer, Kate Maloney, said they’ve already seen great success.
“It’s been nonstop since we opened the doors at 12. You can see it’s going pretty well,” Maloney said.
And the Sip n’ Shop is more than just the name. Maloney said money from vendor registration will go toward sponsoring a family in need during the holidays.
“We’re basically being their Santa,” Maloney said. “A local family has been diagnosed with cancer.”
Remembering a loved one she lost from terminal cancer, Maloney thought it was only right to pay it forward, since she was on the receiving end of support just a few years back.
“I had the same situation, and someone helped us out, so I’m paying them back, and that will be going to them,” Maloney said.
