Wicomico Co. woman convicted of sexually abusing minor

SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County woman has been convicted of sexually abusing a minor child.

Last week, 39-year-old Qwenda Jones was convicted of sex abuse of a minor, second degree rape, second degree offense, and related offenses. Sentencing was deferred pending receipt of a pre-sentence investigation. Jones will remain in custody pending sentencing.

From October of 2012 through October of 2014, Jones and her boyfriend at the time, Orlando Hill, sexually abused the minor child. The victim was between the ages of 9 and 10 at the time of the offenses.

In November 2022, Hill was tried and convicted of sex abuse of a minor, second degree sex offense, and related offenses in connection with these acts. He is also currently pending sentencing.
