1280 Dover Wanted Arrest

DOVER, Del. – Police arrested two wanted suspects late last week following an incident at the Golden Fleece Tavern.

Just before midnight Friday, Dover Police responded to the business for a report of a man who pointed a gun at an employee. Officers met with the victim at the scene, who reported that he was trying to remove Darnell Griffin from the bar because he was being disorderly. The victim told officers that when he was confronted, Griffin pulled two handguns from his jacket and pointed them at the victim. A second suspect, identified as Tiffany Lassiter, took Griffin from the bar and they both left in a Chevrolet Malibu with a temporary Delaware registration.

Officers learned that the suspects went towards North DuPont Highway, and an officer on patrol located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Days Inn located at 272 North DuPont Highway. The pair were taken into custody, and officers found a loaded 9mm handgun in Griffin’s jacket pocket and a loaded 9mm handgun on the ground next to the front left tire, near the driver door, where Lassiter had previously been sitting.

Police say Griffin initially provided a fake name, but officers were able to determine his true identity. It was also revealed that Griffin was wanted in Pennsylvania on weapons charges, and Lassiter had a capias for her arrest.

Griffin was held at SCI on a $131,000 cash bail on a list of charges, including possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a prohibited person.

Lassiter was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond after being charged with providing a firearm to a prohibited person, hindering prosecution, lewdness, and capias.
