Traffic stop leads to discovery of loaded handguns, two arrested

LINCOLN, Del. – A late-night traffic stop in Lincoln led to charges for two on Thursday.

We’re told at around 10:25 p.m., a trooper on patrol observed a silver Dodge Avenger traveling westbound on Fitzgeralds Road, west of Dupont Boulevard, with an expired registration. A traffic stop was initiated on West Clogg Drive, and on contact with the driver, identified as 23-year-old Tiant Handy, a partially concealed firearm was seen in the vehicle.

Handy and his passenger, identified as 21-year-old Thomas Finney, were taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two loaded handguns and approximately one gram of marijuana.

Handy was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and expired tags. He was later released on an $8,250 unsecured bond.

Finney was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and second degree conspiracy. He was released on a $6,000 unsecured bond.
