Pair arrested on multiple theft charges in Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested two men late last week on numerous theft charges.

According to police, the investigation began at the end of February when the victims reported several unauthorized transactions transferring money from their bank account electronically to multiple online money applications. During the course of the investigation, police were able to link the online accounts to 39-year-old Frederick Spiezio and 25-year-old Brian Pogats.

Officers arrested the pair on Friday as a result of the investigation.

Spiezio was charged with three counts of theft under $1500 where victim is 62 years or older, three counts of attempted theft under $1500 where victim is 62 years or older, second degree conspiracy, two counts of theft under $1500, and three counts of attempted theft under $1500.

Pogats was charged with three counts of attempted theft under $1500 where victim is 62 years or older, two counts of theft under $1500 where victim is 62 years or older, second degree conspiracy, three counts of attempted theft under $1500, and theft under $1500.

Both were released on their own recognizance pending future court appearances.
