Sip and Shop Market coming to Dewey Beach Thanksgiving weekend

DEWEY BEACH, Del. – What better way to kick off the holiday weekend than with some fun? That’s exactly what locals are doing in Delaware by taking part in this year’s Sip and Shop hosted by the Developing Artists Collaboration.

The event spans from Friday to Sunday in Dewey beach, featuring an indoor tent complete with over 35 local artists including handmade jewelry, clothing, gifts, and arts and crafts such as candle and print-making.

Free beer from local Delmarva craft breweries will be available, as well as free performances from local vocalists and performers. Organizers tell us they wanted to create a wider indoor space with a tent design that allowed vendors to share spaces, and collaborate between themselves and customers to make and sell art.

DAC organizers tell us that the pandemic has hurt local artists and that on this Black Friday, they wanted to give customers a chance to shop local and have fun while they do it.

“We know lots of people like to get up in the morning on Black Friday and head out to those big box stores, but we are really encouraging supporting these candidate businesses, you can come to get all your holiday shopping done and feel good about sustaining the local economy and helping people grow their small businesses,” said DAC organizer Leah Beach.

Beach tells us that vendors had to apply with DAC to be approved for the slots and that she is thrilled their new venue larger venue could accommodate them.

The first 500 attendees will receive a free tote bag, and tickets to the event are free.
