Cape wins fifth straight field hockey title

Vikings shut out Smyrna in championship game

DOVER, De- The Cape Henlopen field hockey team won their fifth straight DIAA Division I championship, defeating Smyrna 4-0 on Saturday.

The Vikings got their scoring started very early, with senior Reagan Ciabattoni scoring less than two minutes into the first quarter.

They would gather a 3-0 at halftime lead thanks to scores by Kelly Bragg and Noelle Sabbagh.

The lone goal of the second half would come from the stick of Ciabattoni in the third quarter.

Smyrna received their first DIAA field hockey runner-up trophy in school history. For Cape, its their fifth straight Division I title, and their tenth title overall in the last eleven years.
