Salisbury University unveils Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University today unveiled the brand new The Dave and Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship.

The center will feature co-working spaces with studio offices and garages as well as a wet lab with technology for agriculture and medical students to use to create the next big idea or business. A maker space where people can take advantage of robotics, 3-D printing, and other small-scale manufacturing projects will also be available.

Dave Rommel, the center’s name-sake and local businesses leader, spoke at the center today.  He tells us he’s thrilled with the endless opportunities this center offers for students.

“The opportunities that are here the resources that are provided absolutely give young entrepreneurs today much more of a leg up than from years ago,” he said.

For the center’s opening, SU hosted the 17th round of the semi-annual Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Shore Hatchery entrepreneurship competition, awarding $200,000 in funding to qualified Mid-Atlantic entrepreneurs.
