Riders survive furious Central comeback, remain unbeaten
CAMDEN, Del. – Caesar Rodney surrendered a two goal second half lead, but managed to survive in overtime, 4-3, Tuesday night.
Derek Hawkins rainbow shot found the netting in the 19th minute, giving the Riders the early advantage. An advantage that was wiped away just three minutes later when Kerry Perez-Perez connected on a penalty kick.
The Riders scored in the 61st and 63rd minutes, seemingly putting the game away. But Central came back with a goal by Perez-Perez in the 69th minute, and the tying goal by Anthony Prado-Moreno in the final minute of regulation off of a corner kick.
Sawyer Ott scored in the sixth minute of overtime, preserving the Riders unbeaten record (6-0-1).
