Search warrants leads to firearm, drug charges for two in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police say two Dover teens were arrested on drug and firearms charges Wednesday evening.

At around 7 p.m., officers witnessed a subject, identified as 19-year-old Deontray Watson, enter a residence in the 100 block of Willis Road. Police say Watson was wanted for violation of probation and subsequently made contact with him.

Watson and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody, and a search warrant was executed on the apartment. During the search, officers found a 9mm handgun with an extended magazine and 56.6 grams of marijuana.

Watson was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammo by a person prohibited, second degree conspiracy, illegal gang participation, tampering with physical evidence, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. He was held at SCI on a $62,525 cash bond on these charges in addition to the violation of probation.

The 17-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession of firearm/ammo by a person prohibited, second degree conspiracy, tampering with physical evidence, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
