Pocomoke Field Hockey stuns Parkside in OT thriller

Warriors tie game with less than two minutes to go, win in OT

SALISBURY, Md- The Pocomoke Field Hockey team won their regular season finale in grand fashion, defeating Parkside 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday.

The Rams led 1-0 at halftime, but the Warriors would tie the game midway thru the third with a goal by Abbey East. Parkside would once again take the lead off a goal by Keeley Block with seven minutes to go in the game.

Down to one of their final chances, Pocomoke would draw a corner with just over two minutes left. Marli McDorman would get into the teeth of the defense and fire a shot past keeper to knot the game with 1:48 left in regulation.

In overtime, both Kaitlin Cashman (Parkside) and Ella Esham (Pocomoke) made spectacular saves to keep their teams alive. But with just over two minutes left in OT, Dakotah Trader would flip a shot to the cage that would roll by the keeper for the game winner.

The win pushes Pocomoke’s final regular season record to 5-4-1, while Parkside fell to 7-2.
