Police: Pair arrested for stealing irrigation wire

DORCHESTER CO., Md. – Police say two people were arrested over the weekend after it was discovered they were stealing irrigation control wire from systems in the area.

On Saturday, deputies responded to the area of Bethel Road for a report of a vehicle stuck in a field. On arrival, deputies made contact with 32-year-old Jamie Reed and 35-year-old Matthew Davis, both of Bridgeville. It was then discovered that the pair had been involved with stealing irrigation control wire from irrigation systems in the area. During the search of the suspects and vehicle, police found a small quantity of heroin and paraphernalia.

The pair were subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of theft, three counts of malicious destruction of property, possession of heroin, and possession of paraphernalia. Davis was also charged with being a fugitive from justice, as he was also wanted in Delaware.

Davis was held without bond, while Reed was released on a $15,000 unsecured bond.
