Bayside ConferenceSALISBURY, Md- For the first time in nearly 11 months, high school sports sports will return to Delmarva.

The Bayside Athletic Conference supervisors announced on Tuesday that fall and spring athletic seasons will take place over the course of the coming five months. The “fall” season– featuring football, field hockey, soccer, and volleyball, will begin practicing on February 13th, and will include six weeks of competition from March 5th thru April 17th.

The spring sports season–featuring baseball/softball, lacrosse, track and field, tennis, and golf, will begin practicing on April 17th, and will also include six weeks of competition spanning from May 7th thru June 19th.

Wicomico County Supervisor of Athletics Bryan Ashby said the committee worked hard to get to this point, and there is still a lot to be figured out. “The schedule won’t be out for about 10 days, but we are working towards engaging our students in after school activities.” While there will be no state playoffs, the Bayside is hoping to culminate the season with divisional or conference championships.

The conference previously announced that the winter season had been cancelled.
