DE Representative advocates for accessibility to stimulus checks
47 ABC – Delaware Congresswoman, Lisa Blunt Rochester led a bipartisan group with a congressman from Virginia, urging the IRS to allow Americans access to their $600 stimulus.
According to state officials, the IRS is requiring Americans to file their 2020 taxes prior to receiving their economic impact payment. Many people have reportedly been unable to access their payment, leaving them without financial relief.
Congresswoman Rochester believes Americans should receive the direct payments immediately. However, the IRS are asking to receive the proper tax documents before receiving any money.
At a time where many Americans are enduring financial hardships, the bipartisan group is asking the IRS to do everything in their power to get payments to the people.
