“We’re excited” – New Western Sussex Business Campus to be built in Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – The City of Seaford will soon begin constructing a new Western Sussex Business Campus something that could bring dozens of new jobs to the area.

The proposed complex will be built on a plot of more than 100 acres off Herring Run and Ross Station roads. City leaders hope the complex attracts more small businesses and manufacturers to the area.

Sussex officials will fund up to nearly $2 million for the project and the city will contribute $600,000 with additional funds under consideration in the City’s Fiscal Year 22 Budget. In the meantime, the city is working with a private developer to build a 50,000 square-foot commercial building in the area.

“We are looking for this to be a lot of small businesses ranging from two employees to 100 employees and we think that’ll be our best chance for long term success in jobs in Seaford and will give a staying power,” said City of Seaford Mayor David Genshaw.

“So, we’re excited about that,” said Genshaw.

Mayor of Seaford David Genshaw says they’re hoping to begin construction next month.
