Hawks come from behind to down CR in double overtime

StG scored game-tying goal late in fourth quarter

CAMDEN, De- The Caesar Rodney boys soccer team saw their season come to an end in the quarterfinal round of the DIAA Division II tournament, falling 2-1 in double overtime to St. Georges.

After a scoreless first half, CR took the lead late in the third quarter, off a beautiful header by sophomore Sawyer Ott. The Riders would carry their late until late in the fourth, when the Hawks played a long ball past the CR defense and Miguel Sanchez put the equalizer into the back of the net.

Ending regulation at 1-1, the teams would go into overtime, and then double overtime before the Hawks would strike. Sanchez would again get behind the defense and get a foot on the ball for the golden goal.

The Riders season ends with a 9-2-2 record.
