Vikings sink Bucs in offensive showcase
MILFORD, Del. – The Cape Henlopen Vikings relied on a heavy rushing attack that propelled them to a 41-28 victory over the Milford Buccaneers.
The Vikings started out the game with a deep shot down the field by quarterback Hank D’Ambrogi, connecting with Ja’Vaughn Burton to set Cape up in the Milford redzone. Jaden Davis would polish off the drive for the rushing score.
Davis tacked on two more rushing scores in the first half to have the Blue and Gold clicking. Penalties were a problem for both teams. The Vikings had a pick-six called back and a kickoff return for a touchdown as a result of a penalty. Both teams accounted for multiple penalties in the half.
Milford got on the board thanks to a long touchdown run by Marquis Gillis. But the Vikings get the offense in the end zone thanks to a D’Ambrozi keeper to put the lead at 28-7 at the break. The vikings kept it rolling from there en route to the win.
