Pair arrested after drugs found during traffic stop
HARRINGTON, Del. – Two Virginia men were arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Harrington Thursday afternoon.
We’re told troopers were conducting a proactive patrol at around 12:40 p.m. in the area of South DuPont Highway and Delaware Avenue when they saw a vehicle make an abrupt lane change without properly signaling. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the diver, 23-year-old James Boone of Suffolk, VA, as well as the front-seat passenger, 21-year-old Aaron Schrager of Manassas, VA.
Troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and initiated an investigation, ultimately recovery approximately 9,224.69 grams of marijuana and $6,056 in suspected drug money.
Both men were subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Boone was also charged with failure to signal.
The pair were released on their own recognizance.
