DE Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester secures seat, talks plans for next two years

DOVER, Del. – In the house, the Associated Press has called the race in favor of  Democrat Lisa Blunt Rochester For Delaware’s 1st Congressional District. Blunt Rochester was running against republican Lee Murphy and independent Catherine Purcell. She tells 47 ABC that she has a lot more work to do over the next two years including improving access to health care for residents in Delaware, and helping businesses and people in the first state who’ve been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

“I am so thankful to the people of Delaware for voting for me. I want to continue the strong work we have begun. Everything from dealing with and addressing this pandemic and making sure that we focus on people’s healthcare and access to affordable healthcare, to making sure we have a strong economy,” said Representative Blunt Rochester.

Congresswoman Blunt Rochester adds that she’s also focused on creating a better workforce for Delaware and the entire country -and addressing environmental issues.
