Early morning burglary leads to two arrests in Harrington
HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested two people early Saturday morning following a burglary investigation.
We’re told officers responded to a residence on Clark Street at around 2:20 a.m. for a reported burglary in progress. Once on scene, officers found 26-year-old Bryon Morgan and 19-year-old Paul Blakeslee inside a detached garage and took both into custody.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the pair had entered the garage through a window and tried to steal items.
Both were charged with third degree burglary, third degree conspiracy, and theft under $1500, and were released on their own recognizance and given court orders to not contact the burglary victim.
After being released, Morgan reportedly returned to the residence to obtain items he had left in the garage he allegedly burglarized earlier. Police were called back to the scene and Morgan was arrested a second time. Police then learned that Morgan was a suspect in a separate burglary that took place the day before at another residence on Clark Street, in which the suspect broke a window to the residence and stole several items valued at over $5,000.
Morgan was charged with second degree burglary, tampering with a witness, theft over $1500, noncompliance with conditions of release, criminal mischief over $1000, and first degree criminal trespass. He was held at SCI on an $18,500 secured bond on these charges.
