Salisbury man linked to two armed robberies in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A Salisbury man was arrested following a reported armed robbery in Cambridge Friday night.

Just before 9:30 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to a business in the 600 block of Race Street. Officers were able to obtain surveillance footage, identifying that the suspect matched the same description as an in another armed robbery that happened on September 4th on Cedar Street. It was also determined that the suspect robbed both stores using the same AR-15 style rifle. The suspect once again demanded money at which point an unknown amount of cash was handed over and the suspect fled on foot.

Detectives obtained other surveillance footage from a nearby business that showed the suspect fleeing toward the area of Cemetery Avenue. Detectives then obtained and executed a search and seizure warrant during the early morning hours on Saturday at 414 Cemetery Avenue. Inside the residence was the suspected, 33-year-old Salvador Padilla-Valadez Jr., as well as the AR-15 style rifle and other evidence.

Padilla- Valadez Jr. was charged with two counts of armed robbery, firearm charges, and other related charges. He was held without bond.
