New annual Semper Fi Bike Ride coming to Ocean City October 18

OCEAN CITY, Md.- Attention all bike riders, a new patriotic event is coming to the Ocean City boardwalk this fall.

The First State Detachment of the Marine Corps League has announced their first ever Semper Fi Bike Ride.

The event is set to take place October 18 on the Ocean City boardwalk and people of all ages are welcome to participate.

There will be live music, awards, and games at the day long event.

We are told this fun event will help raise money for Toys for Tots, as well as the Semper Fi Fund, a non profit that provides a variety of programs to assist wounded veterans in all branches of the United States Armed Forces.

The event coordinator said this event is a way to give back to the community because COVID-19 has put a pause on many charity events.

“It’s been a tough year for everybody that’s trying to do fundraising, with all the restrictions we’ve had for indoor, all the events had to be held outdoor and that’s what makes this such an attractive event here in Ocean City, is the fact that it’s outdoors and it’s going to be safe,” Bob Broderick, event coordinator, said.

We’re told there will be a COVID-19 program team to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed.
