Local organization holding event Saturday in Salisbury to support unity and black owned businesses

SALISBURY, Md.- This Saturday one local organization will lead an event in Salisbury to promote the Black Lives Matter movement as well as support black owned businesses.

April Jackson, President of Salisbury Advisory Council on Youth Activities said between 20 to 25 vendors will be set up at the Salisbury Veteran of Foreign Wars building from 2 to 7 p.m.

Jackson said her hope is to promote black entrepreneurs and bring everyone in the community together.

Jackson adds that at this particular time we need to come together and support one another.

“Togetherness and peace and unity, everything they could come together other than violence, just a peace that would pass on understanding,” Jackson said.

Jackson said there will be food, music, and games at the event as well.

Everyone is asked to social distance, wear masks, and wear Black Lives Matter shirts to support the movement.
