Laurel School District announces plans for virtual reopening

LAUREL, Del. — The Laurel Return to School Committee, along with superintendent, Doctor Shawn Larrimore, held a virtual meeting Thursday evening to determine how school’s will reopen in the fall.

We’re told the committee approved a unanimous vote that all schools will start on September 14th with remote learning.

Officials say this is with the intent that all students will begin hybrid learning at the start of the second quarter on November 9th. The committee also says an education and transportation commitment agreement will be delivered electronically to all parents on October 5th.

The education and transportation commitment agreement will help determine which students will be returning to schools for hybrid instruction , how many will need buses and how many will choose to remain with remote instruction.
