Crash leads to drug, DUI charges for Milton man
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police say a single vehicle crash led to numerous charges for a Milton man Sunday afternoon.
At around 2:40 p.m., troopers were called to the 2000 block of Ramblewood Drive in Rehoboth Beach for a report of a single vehicle crash involving a moped. Troopers made contact with the driver of the moped, 32-year-old Travis Terry, when an odor of alcohol was detected. It was learned that Terry was traveling northbound on Ramblewood Drive when he hit a branch in the roadway, resulting in him and his moped falling to the ground.
Police then launched a DUI investigation, leading to the discovery of approximately 7.72 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia on Terry. A computer check revealed that Terry had been charged with three previous DUIs.
After being treated and released for non-life threatening injuries at Beebe Medical Center, Terry was taken into custody and charged with 4th offense DUI, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended or revoked. He was held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $21,000 secured bond.
