Search warrant leads to numerous charges for Laurel man
LAUREL, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Laurel man after finding drugs and multiple firearms were found during a search.
On July 22nd, members of the Sussex Governor’s Task Force, Sussex Drug Task Force, and Sussex Probation and Parole executed a drug search warrant at the residence of 55-year-old Troy Abner. During the search, officers found a 3′ tall potted marijuana plant, approximately 3,739.7 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and eight firearms with several pounds of various amounts of ammunition.
Abner was not home at the time of the search, and was taken into custody the next day. He also reportedly turned over two additional firearms at the time of his arrest. He was subsequently charged with eight counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, three counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
