Del. state fair officials push new COVID safety slogan, 1 week before fair kicks off

HARRINGTON, Del. – We are officially one week away from kick-off for the Delaware state fair and they’re introducing a new slogan for this year’s event: Wash up, Back up, and Mask up. Since the start of the pandemic, officials have been working on developing a COVID plan to keep fairgoers safe. So if you plan on attending, a face-covering will be required in order to enter the fairgrounds as well as to ride all of the shuttles. Hand washing and sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the entire area. And guests will also be reminded to follow social distancing guidelines to ensure everyone has a safe and healthy experience.

“We ask people to really keep three tips in mind, is wash up, use our hand sanitizing stations our handwashing stations the restrooms, we want people to back up, make sure you’re properly social distancing and giving folks some space and then ultimately is mask up. Make sure you are wearing a face covering,” said Marketing Director for the fair, Danny Aguilar.

Delaware State Fair kicks off next week Thursday, July 23rd. For more information on the events that will be taking place and other protocols just head to their website here.
