Salisbury Zoo announces reopening plans

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Zoo officials have announced plans to reopen the zoo beginning next week.

We’re told that the zoo will be open to members only during the first weekend of reopening, Friday July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th. Hours will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Zoo Director Leonora Dillon says they wanted to do something special for their members to thank them for their continued support, and that’s why the zoo is only opening to members for the first weekend.

The zoo will reopen to all visitors the following weekend, July 10th through 12th, with the same hours as above. At this time, the zoo will only be open on weekends with limited hours and an attendance cap in place.

Officials say they anticipate being able to expand days, but this will depend on the ability to maintain safety protocols for the zoo’s animals and staff working with them.

Visitors are encouraged to check the zoo website and social media platforms before their visit to read about the changes that have been made.
