80 new COVID-19 cases, 5 new deaths announced in Del.

SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health has announced five additional deaths related to the coronavirus in the state.

Three of the most recent deaths involved Kent County residents, while the other two were Sussex County residents. All five reportedly had underlying health conditions, and ranged in age from 65 to 80. To date, 373 Delawareans have died from the virus.

Officials have also announced 80 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 9,685. Sussex County has seen a total of 4,299, with 1,450 in Kent County, and 3,883 in New Castle. 157 individuals are currently hospitalized, 28 of whom are critically ill.

A total of 5,442 Delawareans have made a full recovery.
