Season Cut Short: Senators look to 2021 to continue run of baseball success

DOVER, Del. – Coming off of a 15-3 regular season, a Henlopen Conference title, and their tenth-consecutive playoff appearance, Dover was prepared to make another run at the Delaware baseball championship.

The 2020 squad had high hopes of bringing that coveted trophy home for the first time in 48 years.

A roster that features a second-team all-state pitcher and second-team all-state third baseman in Dominc Velazquez, and second-team all-state outfielder Nathan Turner. Left Fielder Alec Rodriguez added another big bat to the heart of the lineup.

With their hopes of playing out a season all-but-dashed, the Senators reflect on opportunities missed for their seniors, as well as what needs to happen to find success in 2021.
