Burbage Building could get a face lift
BERLIN, Md. – A historic building in Berlin could soon be getting a face lift. Plans to completely renovate the Burbage Building on Pitts and Main Street are under review by the Berlin Historic District Commission.
The plans include removing nearby utility poles and putting utilities underground As well as installing Victorian street lamps. The exterior of the building on the Main Street side would also be returned to how it looked when it was originally built. The Berlin Historic District Commission tells 47ABC that the renovation will give the town a nicer street-scape, and balance old with new.
Plans to renovate the building must first be approved by the Berlin Historic District Commission, but 47ABC is told that developers are aiming to move fast. After plans are approved, they would need to obtain building permits.
