Halloween day celebrations take over Crisfield

Crisfield, Md. — The City of Crisfield is preparing for a festive Saturday with a Halloween parade and car show taking over the city’s streets. The city’s chamber of commerce invites kids to dress up in their favorite costumes and join the parade from 9th Street to the City Dock. Local businesses and organizations will be along the route to hand out candy. And the Shoreline Showcase will bring custom cars downtown and offer awards to participants.

The events are part of a collaborative effort to highlight Crisfield. Ray Somers, an organizer for the Shoreline Showcase, said that part of the goal for the event is to bring attention and revenue to the city as they hold the car show for the second year.

“My idea when we did the show last year to get some traffic through there to bring some kind of revenue down there to show people how beautiful Crisfield is. And what better way to do that than have a car show with a bunch of cool vehicles right on the water,” Somers said.

The Halloween parade runs from 3 to 4:30 pm and the car show will be from 10 am until 4 pm.
