DPH announces additional COVID-19 related death in Delaware
SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says another person has died as a result of the coronavirus.
We’re told the individual is an 84-year-old Sussex County man who had significant underlying health conditions.
This brings the state’s death total to 11. To date, 368 cases have been confirmed in the state, with 226 of those in New Castle, 41 in Kent, and 101 in Sussex County.
Officials also say that a total of 49 Delawareans have successfully recovered from the virus. Patients are considered fully recovered seven days after the resolution of their symptoms. Patients are no longer required to self-isolate at home three days after symptoms resolve, but must continue to practice strict social distancing for the remaining four days before returning to their normal daily routine.
